VEREX Technology puts pride into providing you with innovative state of the art technology. This month we are excited to promote two new products, the new VeDVR line of digital video recorders and the most recent update to our successful security Management software, Director V4.72.

VeDVR - Digital Video Recorders

The VeDVR is the latest addition to our family of high quality Digital Video Recorders. Whether your needs are for a stand alone or integrated video solution, the VeDVR is the product for you. The VeDVR is available in 4, 8, or 16 camera options with flexible storage capacities; therefore providing room for growth for even the smallest of installations. Built on a highly reliable embedded real time operating system, using the high quality H.264 codec, the VeDVR provides exceptional performance (up to 25 fps PAL/30 fps NTSC @ 4CIF) at a extremely competitive price.

The VeDVR provides the customer with easy remote access to live or recorded video from single to multiple units through the remote station software or integrated with the VEREX Director software. The VeDVR boasts features that are normally only available in higher end enterprise DVRs.

These include:

  • 4CIF recording resolution (configurable per camera)
  • H.264 high quality video compression with audio recording integration
  • Continuous, event, video motion detection, pre-alarm and scheduled recording
  • Adjustable frame rates and resolution per camera with event triggered changes to frame rate and/or resolution
  • Image security and a range of PTZ protocols to enable connection with a multitude of dome cameras
  • Flexible HDD storage capacities (current models available up to 2TB)
  • Built in DVD Writer and eSATA connection for data-backup and evidence recording
  • Fully programmable and controllable using remote software
    - Flexible live display across multiple units
    - Flexible search and synchronised playback
    - Full configuration and configuration back up
  • Ability to integrate images from the VeDVR to VEREX’s Director software

Director V4.72

The Director V4.72 is the latest release of our successful integrated software platform. This release gives the user increased performance, capacities, and encrypted communications. This provides faster operation on larger systems, easier network connectivity (removal of DCOM), and secure connection over the internet.
To enable us to ensure quality, we expanded our large scale test bed to validate the new software to its maximum performance capabilities.

Performance testing conducted on this test bed included:

  • 250 IP connected panels using 25 communications clients
  • Test databases configured at the maximum feature set including 64,000 users, 25000+ input points, etc
  • Test databases derived from actual customer systems
  • Test firmware used to simulate 24 events per second at Director. (By comparison, analysis of activity at a large and busy site shows event rates of approximately 2 events per minute per panel, or, when extrapolated to 250 panels, 9 events per second).
  • Network loading (congestion) using special IP test tools.
  • Comparative performance testing using Director 4.6X as a baseline.
  • Multiple OS’s were tested including Vista (Business and Ultimate editions), XP and Windows 2003.

The Director GUI client capacity has been expanded from the current 8, to a maximum of 50 GUI clients concurrently connected to the same Director server.  This allows easier management, administration, configuration, and monitoring of your integrated systems.
The communication ports have also been expanded from 3 to 25 to accommodate a new system control panel limit of 250 (increased from previous limit of 100).

This expanded panel limit will allow for higher door (8000), area (4000), inputs (64,000), and outputs (32,000) capacities.

Director now uses Microsoft™’s latest desktop database platform, SQL 2005 Express.  The database event log capacity has also been increased to 1 million for closed database installations; and 20 million on open database installations when used with SQL Server 2005 (Workgroup, Standard, or Enterprise editions).  This benefits your customer by allowing them to retain their system events for a longer period without the need to archive. VEREX’s new embedded digital video recorder (VeDVR), and March Network’s R5 DVR can now be integrated with Director V4.72 to provide live video streaming as well as linking of events to live or recorded video in a similar way to the existing NetVision DVR.

Director V4.72 will be available the week of July 7th, 2008.
